Those Skimpy Armors...

Welcome to my blog as I feature Guild Wars this month. And today let me show you the most expensive armors(yeah, it also means 'strongest' armor, believe it or not) you can buy in the game when you get so l33t you have more gold and platinum pieces than you know what to do with(but hey, if you're really stumped, give 'em to meeeeeeee!).

Maybe it's because when the female character runs out of energy to fight, she can just distract her enemies with her armor.

I feature only the skimpiest 15k female armors for each class. There are actually other armors that are less revealing but give just the exact amount of protection as the ones shown in the pics, so I believe these are somehow more magical. From left: Warrior, Ranger, Elementalist, Mesmer, Monk and Necromancer.

Another monster I encountered in the quest is the Worm Queen. All I can say is she's got a big useless mouth, she's ugly and she's terribly, pitiably blind. And very easy to dispatch, apparently.

There are 6 professions you can choose from: Warrior, Ranger, Monk, Mesmer, Necromancer, and Elementalist. After choosing one, you go on to little quests that are a lot of fun. Then along the way you are asked to choose a secondary profession. You can choose right away, or you can take your time. I found out the hard way that I should have taken my time though, for as soon as I chose one I can't go back and change it as easily. And that I can't train on the secondaries I already turned down if I already started training on another.

Oh, and if any of you don't know it yet, there's a river drake that's on the left side of the gate of Pre-searing Ascalon, behind the healing fountain(with Lina the healer). Drake's are hella difficult to defeat, so you gotta be really ready to take them on, but I hear the payback's worth it. I'll find out for myself...

Welcome! You are now seeing the first strip for Guild Wars month!

Turns out anyone can try Guild Wars for free! All you gotta do is walk up to any netcafe with GW and tell them you wanna try it out. Ask nicely for the free 10-hour trial card and play! You pay only for the net, not the game.

I started out as a Ranger, because I liked her hair (LOL). The start of the game's pretty cool, but I think the FMV can be better. And you are directed by green arrows to tell you what you should do next. They're just suggestions, though. You can explore as you like, and sometimes find pleasant surprises or just plain practice ;)

One quest I took on is about getting a bear pelt. I didn't know how hard it was until I got killed by bears. Thrice. At one time I just gave up and went to town and ranted about how I couldn't get the bear pelt because bears get my skin first! So a warrior suggested I team up with him and 'he'(ok, you can choose to play as a male or female character, so I'm not really sure what gender the player really is :p) helped me kill off bears until I got myself a pelt! Whee! :D

More GW playing stories next week. You can add me as Lillith Dragonfire if you're playing GW too. You can also join Geedot's guild called GDC PH (Greendot Cafe Phils.)! Just go to his website http://greendotcafe.com :D

And so we conclude Pilya's Pinoy Bloggers Month this August with Camy! My favorite chocolate goddess! Check out her blog to find out how you can purchase yummy brownies, cookies and other goodies :D

And when I made this strip I got curious along the way, namely about chocolate body paint. I first heard about in Fudge magazine (where Gerry Alanguilan's Humanis Rex is serialized) and found this:

Superfabulous Chocolate Body Paint

You can make this chocolate sauce a few days ahead and store it in the refrigerator. Warm it in the microwave or in a double boiler and stir thoroughly before using. Keep in mind that the microwave can create hot spots in food, so be sure to stir the sauce up well and make sure it's not searing hot before you start painting. Feel free to add some booze for flavor. We liked it with raspberry-flavored Chambord and also with bourbon.
Makes about 1/2 cup

1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 pinch kosher salt
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon (or more) booze, or to taste

1) Put sugar, salt and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Don't stir but wait for the mixture to come to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer and watch closely until all of the sugar granules have dissolved. Remove from heat.

2) Add butter and stir with a wire whisk until incorporated.

3) Add cocoa powder, vanilla and booze; Whisk until incorporated.

4) Pour into a small crock, mug or other deep, microwave-save container.

5) Use the paint as soon as it is cooled enough to be comfortable. The hotter the sauce the easier it is to paint with but you don't want to burn your Valentine. If the sauce becomes hard, warm it in the microwave for 20 seconds. Stir and test the temperature again before using.
