I asked my good friend and churchmate James Uy(we've known each other since Grade 2 when we used to play Sikyo and Chippy-chippy) to help me bring my PC to a service shop to have it fixed.

Eventually I chose Qnet because they offered to reformat my PC for only P300. And they sell the hardware I wanted to buy to upgrade my system.

At the end of the day I also paid P200 to install Norton Antivirus 2003 and Photoshop 7(they don't have Photoshop CS). They said what caused my PC to have problems was lack of memory. Their technician Arnel Bravo sold me a 128Mb SDRAM card for P1700, giving me a 6-month warranty. They installed Windows XP because they said it's better than Windows ME. I had to buy another modem because my D-link modem has only a Windows ME driver. They sold me an internal modem for P380. I needed to get online for my work so I surfed in their net cafe for P33.

James carried my CPU home for me. Mom was pleased to see our PC using Windows XP. When we tried to get online tho we could barely open any websites, and more importantly, we can't install any messengers, because the net is slower than ever. And it's STILL blacking out and resetting itself!

Okay, the primary reason the PC is important to my family is because we use it to chat with our dad in China, who feels homesick with every day our PC is STILL not fixed. So we now realize the modem they sold us simply won't do. They said it's because of the ISP, suggesting I try THEIRS because it's faster daw. But I'm not convinced since they can't even connect with it because the lines are always busy.

Yeah right. We've been using Pacific Internet's E-VOLVE for ages. It's never as slow as when we used your brand new modem!

So yeah, I had to bring my CPU back to Qnet. James is too busy to help me this time so I carried it myself, transporting it by tricycle.

My deadline for a HK strip was that day so they installed Photoshop 7 in one of their PC rentals which I used to make the latest strip and email it to HK. When I'm done I paid P120 for the rental and I'm told that my system can't handle Windows XP so they installed Windows 98 instead. THIS time they told me my hard drive is the problem and I have to buy a new one. They sold me a Seagate 7200rpm 40Gb for P3750 to replace my old 2002 Seagate 5600rpm 40Gb. They said backing up my drive D: would take time so I have to leave it in their shop overnight. I coldn't sleep that night worrying about my poor battered and abused CPU.

I paid for the new hard disk, wondering what they've done to my old one, and took it home to see that they installed desktop themes and activated the Undersea which made water sounds every time I click open a freaking window. Consuelo??? They also installed Hangaroo, Milyonaryo, Whip the Worker, and tons of other such games. But they forgot to install the Norton Antivirus I paid them to install. And yes, same net problems applied as the day before, if not worse and slower. They also said there's something wrong with my motherboard's capacitors.

Fed up and getting helplessly suspicious, I brought my CPU to MSC service center just to get a second opinion. I told them to be careful not to touch anything as to prevent any possibility to void my warranty, but to tell me what the state of my CPU really is.

I took comfort in their confirming that thay have the same diagnosis with my motherboard, and even opened up my CPU to show me where the capacitors are, so I can actually see them leaking out. They were admittedly iffy about all the shit I went through with Qnet though, and even helped me compose questions and requests to help my PC get fixed by Qnet. They also said I should definitely have asked to keep my old hard drive.

I agreed to their recommendation of getting a motherboard with DDRAM while returning the SDRAM I bought from them, because they said SDRAM is near to getting phased out. They let me use their phone to call Qnet. We were all surprised when Arnel Bravo said he doesn't want to accept the SDRAM back because he already bought a new one with the money I paid him. The MSC guys told me I should because they've looked at my SDRAMs. One of them is dated 2003 while the other has NO date at all. I insisted they take back the SDRAM because I'm buying the motherboard and DDRAM from them anyway.

I also told them I'm returning the internal modem because it's too frustratingly slow, and I'm buying their external modem which they priced at P1600. They said the motherboard and 256 DDRAM would be about P7000 and I have to wait until Tuesday 2pm when the hardware comes in because the ones they have in stock then are all reserved. They said they'll call me as soon as the hardware arrives.

Tuesday, October 26

I called at 2pm to be told that 'they will see' if there is any for me, because they said I didn't file a 'formal order'. I asked if it would be ready to be installed into my CPU tomorrow morning. They said their technicians will not be available tomorrow because they are going to be sent somewhere else to work on 17 PCs.

They said they'd call me 3pm. It's past 6pm now. I texted Arnel Bravo but he never replied.

I apologize to all my clients. Now you know why I can't work on my PC. I get online by Net cafes now.

I finally got a reply this morning from Rommel:

The Red Priestess was walking along the garden of her temple when she saw a winged shadow fall on the ground before her. She looked up to see him flying overhead, oblivious to her. She watched his black wings move gracefully as they sent their owner to a mysterious faraway destination. She watched him, sad yet satisfied to see that he's getting on with his life.

She heard a flutter of great feathers right behind her and turned to see Angel gently landing on the soft earth, tucking his white wings. He smiled at her.

"Well, Angel, it's been awhile. So how fares you?"

He had come for another visit. And they talked about how their lives had been, him as His servant, and her as Hers. The subject of a female seraph especially piqued her interest, for he had usually been very shy. She told the embarassed winged man in white that she's happy to hear about it. As she looked at him, she knew she may not love him the same way she loved him before, but is sure to love him always. In the end, they hugged each other goodbye.

As she watched him fly off, she wondered when she could get her own wings...

Hello! I'm online right now to submit strip 24 of Usapang K, a monthly comic strip sponsored by Community Card Services Ltd. in Hong Kong to be printed in The Sun.

I'm also submitting another sketch for Wunan who kindly offered to critique my works.

And besides finishing Azrael's Merryland fan art by making one sheep per day until all 8 are completed, I also submit to Altermedia images for MMS downloading. I started a brand new series called Lil Angelz for them to post in their website soon. When they're up I'll post a link so you guys can check it out ;)

Register Your Cell Phone NOW

NOW they tell me I should've registered my phone! I tried registering it using my new sim since I know its IMEI and SIM numbers, but they won't accept it. They said I have to use the sim to register itself. Like hell that thief would kindly register it for me. "Mamang magnanakaw, paki text nga ito sa 682..." "paki-block na rin ha?" Riiiiiiiiiight.

Now all I could do for the moment is register my new phone. All I could do for my old phone is to hope I still have the old sim pack. Which I doubt, because I never thought of keeping them. The box is a sure goner. I used it as a gift box last Christmas(I could almost hear the National Bookstore employees saying "See? SEE? Now THAT's why we sell these nifty giftboxes!") Oooookay.

All I have is the stolen phone's IMEI(written on the receipt by the tindera), and the PIN stored in my head. Now I hope I remembered the right PIN. Because I'll be going ALL the way to Agham Road where the NTC office is. I'm supposed to bring the box and the simpack of the stolen cellphone, but all I have now is the receipt(which I'm amazed I still found) and the PIN in my head.

I plan to go later so I could be early tomorrow to go there. That means I gotta build my China portfolio before I go. I'm buying a new map for myself. I've been using dad's map since mine got lost when my sister was using it(Running from stalkers. Long story). Another Ryoga adventure...



And I also plan to buy colored markers for my latest gig: kiddie caricatures. I'm recently hired to make caricatures for kids in a Justice League-themed birthday party. I found out using felt tip markers make me finish faster.



I went with mom yesterday to Manila to visit their friends Kuya Lito and Ate Lina. Dad has been hoping for the longest time that Kuya Lito would help me find a job as an artist in China. That way we can be together and he'd be less homesick. When I'm there na, I'm supposed to figure out how to get the rest of the family in China too, because a lot of the Pinoy workers he met there are moving their families to China. Some even enrolled their Pinoy kids in Chinese Schools.

We also visited my Tita Dory after. The first thing she asked is why I didn't get to buy foam for the soundbooth anymore. I told her there was no budget to continue the project. I used the phone to call friends in Manila. Then we ate sweet and sour Fish (yep, big-a$$ fish!) and spam and orange juice and ube and instant pancit canton. We went there to visit Tito Jonji, my pogi uncle who had Bell's Palsy, but thankfully is recovering now. His ever-creative wife's latest raket is Balloon Twisting...



By the time we're ready to go home she's got one big balloon with 3 litle balloons inside, plus 2 flower twisted balloons, 2 small round balloons and a heart shaped one, too. She put curled ribbons on all of them as well as wrappings :)

My cellphone was stolen

Last Friday, 10am, I got off a bus at Galeria to find my cellphone missing. I checked my person several times on the way to Summit office and confirmed enough that it's lost. After Summit told me that I'll have to come back later, I rushed to the bus station and found the conductor who directed me to his bus (good thing I kept the ticket). But I couldn't find my phone anywhere. He told me my seatmate got off the bus after me without even asking for change to his fare.

So I bought a sim in a Globe office and managed to borrow a phone to put the new sim in and tell my family what happened. I also emailed people about it because I was afraid the thief may cause my contacts harm.

I have just bought a new cellphone this morning and have recently gotten reports about my contacts getting messages from my old cellphone saying he(the thief) is willing to send me my important numbers. Strangely he didn't say anything about sending me my phone itself.

Worse, I also got reports of my contacts getting verbally abused by this thief.

To the lousy bastard who stole my phone, I was honestly willing to give you a chance to return my phone. I even told you I'd give you a monetary reward. Apparently you decided my phone is a better reward than anything.

I'm willing to forgive you for that. Perhaps you are so excited about the prospect of actually owning a cellphone for yourself.

But I can never forgive you for cursing and sending malicious text messages or calls to my contacts. You'll get what's coming to you for even thinking of harming my friends in any way. Minura mo pa mga nag-text sa yo! PUTANG INA MO!

To my contacts, I hope I have warned you enough.

Now, if anyone has any idea how I could block my unit and sim please let me know. I have so far asked Globe about it but they just said they can't do anything about it so I have to go to NTC so that they would help Globe do it for me.

My stolen cellphone is a Nokia 3315 with a matte-finish metallic red casing, number 351465300216181, with a Globe 64k sim number +63916 393 5721.

I'd call NTC myself, but I'm in Laguna :(

THE INVINCIBLE SWORD GODDESS SPEAKS

I had this weird idea of having the government run like a corporate company. Presidents and other governmental positions like senators, congressmen, etc would be selected the way HR departments choose their employees. IQ tests, EQ tests, Psych tests, the works.

That means no more voting by popularity or what have you, and no more campaigning. Instead of wasting their money campaigning, they could just use that money to sharpen their skills. I won't be surprised if review schools pop up just for that heh heh heh!

Which leads us to the question on who would be the Administrator? The one who would keep the successful candidates in line? I suddenly wanted to study business/corporate models. What if they do something bad? Send them a memo?? Who will send them?

If we try to form a board of trustees equivalent it may still go down to politicking, sabotaging the successful candidate because they wanted another candidate to pass the exams. Which defeats the purpose of forming a government and running it as controlled as the corporate models.

I'll let this idea brew in my mind if I still find it amusing to follow this train of thought.

It is times like these that make me believe God and my angels take care of me :)

I'm supposed to get my first paycheck last week, but let's just say I didn't. I guess accounts was too busy or something. I'll check on it when I get to work.

Anyway, I'm glad for my freelance gigs because I'm surviving on them right now.

Last last Saturday I earned for a 2-hour face painting gig in a kiddie birthday party in Laguna. I had fun with the kids as well as the 'non-kids', even if it seems like they're just being cute because I was with my gorgeous sister(if you wanna get to know her be VERY nice to me and maybe I'll give you her Friendster URL).

Hmmmm, I gotta make a website to upload the pics of our works...



Last Tuesday I got paid more for finishing a comic book cover. This is getting to be a fun project because of the amount of artistic freedom I have. I get to script, pencil, ink, color, letter and layout the entire comic book. I mean, I'm doing EVERYTHING in this project! Which means maximum control. And at the same time the client is very fun to bounce ideas off with :) I just finished another page today. I'm downloading images to use for the third page later.



And yesterday I got paid more for the 3 comic strips I made for Hong Kong. Sure it's mostly educational comic strips for domestic helpers in Hong Kong but even if the premise is not that glamorous I make it a point that I take pride in each and every work I take on. That I followed my standards in doing the job right.



And I'm getting a gift certificate from Seeker for the Hot Copy comic strips! I have no idea what to buy in Neutral Grounds with it tho. Jonas said he'll buy an Aragorn figurine.



HE may find the doll sexy enough for him, but I'm not that satisfied with the Legolas figurine myself. He's not... cute enough :9 And even if he is, what the heck am I gonna do with it??

Tanong yan sa akin ng isang boylet. Pero ano nga ba ang ibig sabihin ng 'boylet'? Ewan ko ba, pero napulot ko yan sa mga bading kong kaibigan. "Ate, yummy ang boylet mo." "Bakla, saan ba may boylet dito?" Pero kung talagang pag-iisipan, mahirap ma-define ang boylet. Ito ba'y dahil sa age? Sa maturity? Sa height? Sa looks?


Ang boylet, kailangang bata, or at least, ka-age mo. Kasi pag mas matanda ng ilang taon, hindi na boylet yon, tander-cat na. As in tanders. Tanders from matanda -- matanders -- tanders -- tander-cat (origin - thundercat). Grabe ang evolution ng mga salita, di ba?


Dapat din daw, ang boylet, hindi mo boyfriend, pero hindi lang din friend. So, ibig sabihin, napakalalim ng kahulugan ng "-let" sa suffix sa boylet. Biro mo, ang "-let" ang nag-define ng isang relasyon na mas malalim, at malamang mas intimate sa friendship, pero less committed at non-exclusive kung ikukumpara sa boyfriend. Tsk, tatlong letra lang yan, pero it makes a world of difference. Kaya ang isang boy, para maging boylet, kailangang maging isang tao na kayang tumawid sa pagitan ng

So pwede din ba gamitin ang "-let" sa mga tander-cats? Hmmm. parang masagwa -- tander-lets? Tander-cat-lets? Kasi naman pag tander-cats, mas malamang na naghahanap ng isang relasyon na hindi passing fancy lang. Pero hindi yan generalization, okay? Madami pa din namang mga tander-cats na isip-boylet. So, anong tawag natin sa kanila?
Closet-boylets? Ay, ambot!


Ano pa ang distinguishing factor ng isang boylet? Sabi ng isang kaibigan na nagkaroon na ng relasyon mula sa both ends of the continuum -- from the youngest of boylets to super tander-cats, ang boylet, fling lang daw. Kapag naging seryoso ang relasyon o "arrangement" sa isang boylet, pwede nang tanggalin ang suffix na "-let" at palitan ng salitang "friend". But it is not necessarily true na promotion sa boylet ang pagiging boyfriend. Isipin mo yon, pag may boyfriend ka na, bawal na ang
mga boylets. Eh kung puro boylets lang, walang hassles, walang guilt involved, kasi nga, ang "-let" ang sasalba sa iyo. Ang "-let" ang nagsasabi na hindi naman kayo exclusive sa isa't-isa. Ang galing talaga ng "-let"! Pwede din kaya itong gamitin sa ibang salita? Halimbawa, kung itatanong sa iyo ng jowa mo, "Do you love me?" Ang problema, hindi ka sigurado kung anong isasagot. Isipin mo, pag sinabi mong 'yes',
sangkatutak na exclusivity na yan. Pag naman 'no', aba, eh, baka mag-isip ang jowa mo at iwan ka. So, pwede bang "yes-let" ang isagot? Ang "-let" na lang uli ang bahala to fill in the gaps. Ibig sabihin pag 'yes-let', oo, love kita ngayon, pero may possibility na bawiin ko in the future. O kaya naman, oo, love naman kita, pero pwede pa ba akong humirit ng one last boylet?


Boylet -- boy na maliit o cute? Di ba't ang ibig sabihin ng suffix na "-let" at cute o naman kaya'y maliit? Parang islet, maliit na island; booklet, maigsi o manipis na compilation ng materials. Hindi naman kasi magandang pakinggan kung tatawagin silang mini-boys. Mas maganda at endearing nga ang tunog ng boylet, parang honeylet.


Pero pano naman pala ang tawag sa girl version ng mga boylet? Girlet? Parang hindi akma. Mas maganda siguro kung girlash. Pero hindi nito ganap na mailalarawan kung ano ang essence ng pagiging quasi-gf, semi-friend. So, in short, sa mga boys lang pwedeng magkaroon ng suffix na "-let", ganon ba yon? Baka naman kasi ibang suffix ang angkop sa mga girls.


Kung ikaw ang mamimili, ano ang mas gusto mo, isang boylet na nagpapaka-tanders, o isang tander-cat na nagpapaka-boylet? Magulong isipin, pero ang isang boylet na nagpapaka-tandercat ay yung tipong pa-mature effect. Ang dami kunwaring angst sa buhay, pinapalaki ang pinakamaliit na issue - para nga naman makasabay sya sa lahat ng angst ng nakakatandang babae. Insecurity siguro ng mga boylet, o maaari rin

Suggestion ko lang, pwede naman litmus test na lang for acidity ang gamitin, di ba? Yung iba naman, pantawid-gutom daw. Ano ang akala nila sa mga boylet, mini-cup na pansit canton? Yung iba naman, just so they'll feel alive again daw, to feel young, fresh and to get their groove back. Aside from botox treatment, napakadami pang mga services ni Dra. Vicky ang pwede para magmukha at maging feeling young.

Heehee! To commemorate my getting the job here in CSB :D

MCO asked me to design a logo for our office based on their students' designs. I chose the most popular one, namely Peewee's (also our MCO web guy) and this is what got approved :) I'm pretty happy they liked it.

If you're VERY familiar with the CSB area, you'd guess where I live now ;)

It's pretty cool. I'm sharing the room with 4 other girls. Two of them UP students, a St. Scho, and another studying music, majoring in the clarinet. In short I'm the 'Ate' again ;)

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL... er, WORK
(Sorry, watched Finding Nemo for the hundredth time)

Yay! It's my first day here in CSB! I am tasked to submit a poster design by Wednesday, and it's cool how they're letting me feel my way around muna today. I got to borrow materials like newsletters and catalogs and primers to learn all about CSB. I'm wondering if I could study here too heheheh! Maybe Flash and html... but of course, work first ;) I am definitely using my time here in Manila to learn. I'll just figure out basing on my work schedule what I can study.

I was given a tour around the campus and I'm impressed at how they manage to get everything(classrooms, admins, offices) in such a small space. But that's just me being a UST grad ;) And their canteen is droolworthy! ;D I can't wait to eat all the flavors of the ice cream there ONE BY ONE! Just like I did when Dairy Queen opened near UST back in college. I managed to try all the flavors by the time schoolyear ended ;9

Guys,

Good news! College of Saint Benilde called me yesterday saying I'm hired as their Senior Graphic Artist! YAY! I'm meeting them today this 2pm and I'm supposed to bring my SSS#, TIN#, transcript, ID pic and resume!

This morning Mei-Tak liked my "Stacked Frogs" watercolor (my last ditch effort which I did in less than an hour because they kept turning down my digitally colored 'anime/comics-styled' drawings) so much they want to hire me for China!

Uh-oh... and the new York guys just sent me email to tell me that I'm now part of their office as their probationary freelance part-time artist. They told when I thought that they might not take me "You shouldn't be worried because you're a VERY shortlisted candidate. We like your illustrations and personality."

A month ago I'd kill for a problem like this. Having multiple job offers with possible salaries of twice my last salary working as an artist.

I should have been more careful what to wish for.

I really have no idea what to do with Engot. And I'm saddened that he just went to worse when we gave him all his chances to get better.

But who knows? Maybe Johnny's right. Maybe it really is all my fault. Maybe if I went off to China(finally???) he'll stop and act like when he first joined the group again.

Argh!

Work in China?



I've been trying to get a job in China because the pay is good, the experience would be great, and I want to learn my father's language more.

Today I am one of the applicants considered for their designer position. If I get the job I have to be there in China before the 26th of this month.

Which means I may not be able to go to Toy Con anymore. Maybe.

In reply to Blitzkerieg's question:

"We are now organizing the "3rd Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2004". This will be held at the SM Megatrade Hall 3 on June 27, 2004 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. This event now encompasses not just the collectors market but the hobby market as well, including RPG games, airsoft and combat gaming, online gaming, Techdech, etc.

This single day event is expected to bring in 40 of the country's top collectible exhibitors including licensees in eminent toy brands and prominent hobby merchants. We are anticipating a crowd of at least 5000 people in this mega-event.

All you gotta do is drop off pics of the people you want me to draw (you, your friend, etc) and maybe ref pics of costumes/themes you want me to use, along with the payment. The first was a James Bond theme, and the second gave me ref pics of the Slytherin Quidditch uniform. After you throughly enjoyed touring the whole of TOYCON you come back to my booth and pick it up :)

So I hope you got pics ready when we see each other at the TOYCON! :D

QUICK CARICATURES

Whenever I sell my caricatures in events, it goes like this:

1) When someone wants me to draw a caricature, the person gives me a picture of the one I'm drawing

2) They tell me the theme they want.

3) They pay me P150 for every person to be drawn

4) Then they go on to enjoy the convention.

5) When they're ready to leave they come back to me and claim the finished drawing :)

For example, if a photo looks like this and they wished to wear that Bruce Lee suit like in Kill Bill:

Now I hope Gerry won't kill me for this, because actually, I did this drawing as my surprise birthday gift to him. I had this idea of drawing him as a spoof for Kill Bill because the 'villain' in Wasted was named Bill and he mentioned that he that he thought that Bruce Lee suit looked cool so... ;)

Knife-Wielding Maniacs

I was on my way home in a jeep one day when a big, dark and fat guy got on, facing the driver, while I was sitting at the end nearest the passenger exit at the back. I was a bit puzzled at his ragged and stained clothing, but dismissed it thinking he's a butcher or something.

My presumptions were proved wrong when he started talking to nobody in particular, sometimes even cursing to people who hasn't been talking with them. I still gave it no mind thinking he could be harmless.

As I faced his back, he hitched up and scratched his back, exposing a long kitchen knife tucked at the belt of his denim shorts, then pulled his shirt back down over the knife. I realized the stains on his shirt looked more like bloodstains, and they were right over where the knife was hidden.

That's when I turned at the girl seated across me, who was the only other person to see the knife, since everyone else in the jeep was seated between the crazy and the driver. The jeep was only half full, so everyone could afford to sit facing the driver.

I reacted to to the girl's alarmed look on her face by jokingly pretending to jump off the jeep. She smiled, somewhat relieved of some of the tension at the moment. I then texted my friend about the knife wielding crazy in a blood-stained shirt, who in turn quickly replied telling me to get off the jeep. Now. I guess they're afraid the crazy guy would suddenly decide to re-enact a Wasted scene.

I was not that keen on getting off the jeep. Call me silly, but it's because I already paid for my fare and I wanted to get my fare's worth. And also because I'm worried about the other passengers, which included a mother and her toddler son.

I was resolving to get off the jeep only when I'm sure everyone else has gotten off before me and are all safe when my friend called, ordering me to get off the jeep. I tried to protest but they wouldn't hear of it. When the girl across from me saw me call the driver to stop, she quickly moved to get off the jeep herself.

Still worried, I called out to the mother with her toddler to get off the jeep too. The mother just gave me a puzzled look. As we caught another jeep, I voiced my concern for the last 2 passengers with the crazy to the girl who got off the jeep with me. She said she's sure the two would get off themselves soon.

The girl recounted the story to the passengers of the new jeep why we got off practically in the middle of nowhere and transferred to another jeep, telling them about the crazy and his bright orange-handled knife hidden by his bloodstained shirt. I got home uneventfully after that.

Actually, this reminded me of a similar incident...

I was still in college then, and I was also on my way home, only I was riding a bus to San Pablo. The bus broke down so we had to transfer. The conductors was settling payments and figuring out who already paid and who did not when the tow truck came and started hitching up the bus to tow.

The passengers must have been scared getting dragged with the bus by the tow truck or something because they all got off the bus before the conductor was done settling accounts and tickets. Of course he got pissed and told the tow truck guys to at least wait until the passengers have transferred, shouting about the guys being so money hungry that they can't wait to get paid for towing.

I was actually pretty oblivious the whole time, minding my own business and sitting on my pretty little @$$ waiting for the next bus to tansfer to. Until I heard the lady beside me screaming about somebody getting a knife and she's scared for her baby and all. That's when I looked up and almost hit my nose against a bolo knife(itak).

Turned out the shouting match has escalated to something far worse that the tow guys ran to their truck to get their own bolos out so the conductor took out his own(I didn't know until then that most motorists such as they have big-@$$ knives hidden in their vehicles).

I found myself shocked and talking rapidly to the conductor to put his knife away, "MANONG! Itabi n'yo po 'yung itak!"("SIR! Please put the knife away!")

The conductor had fear in his eyes, unsure of what to do, "Aatake na sila e!"("But they're attacking!"). When I looked out of the bus windshield ahead, I saw one of the tow guys angrily running back to the bus, carrying his own itak. the mother beside me screamed and her infant daughter cried.

I turned to the driver and shouted, "Isara n'yo yung pinto!"("Close the doors!")

Man, it was like a freakin' movie. The door sealed shut the exact moment the towguy reached us and brought his itak down, the blade glancing off the metal doors. As the we, people trapped inside the bus(me, the conductor, the driver, the lady and her baby) watched the towguy banging against the door in futility, I quietly asked the conductor to put away his knife, which he was still clutching.

He slowly moved his hand to put it back in its hiding place, while I talked to him in a soft voice the whole time, telling him that they shouldn't get carried away and let such small things lead to too heavy consequences. He was concerned about the towguy still lashing out at the door. I told him his anger will pass when he tires out and regains his senses.

I stood before the door and faced the guy lashing out on the other side. I guess he got embarassed or something because he finally stopped a few moments later, and put his knife down. Barring the entrance I asked the driver to open the doors. Then softly asked the towguy, "Ok na po kayo?"("You ok now, sir?").

He sheepishly bowed his head as I gently joked, "Kayo talaga, tinakot n'yo po kami e!"("You silly, you scared us!") and we laughed as I told him not to do it again. I then told him that they can hitch up the bus after our busguys would see us transferred to another bus.

The towguy was saying the conductor started it calling him names. I said he was just grumpy because his bus broke down(wouldn't you?). I then pointed out to the towguy that the baby was smiling at him(OOOH! Lookie! The baby was smiling at you! Wheeeeee!).

By the time another bus came along for us to transfer to, the towguy was playing and making 'kootchi-koo' noises waving bye-bye to the baby :)

Of course, when I reached home and told the fam about it they all said I was crazy to put myself in danger like that and told me not to do it ever again ;D

FREE FRONT ROW TICKETS TO LINKIN PARK METEORA CONCERT!

Yes! I submitted this art to Jag Jeans, the sponsor of this event, because Azrael said I might win free tickets. I made that art because I really wanted to draw something for the month of June, so I never expected to win in the contest.

But June 14, Monday, I got text messages telling me that I've won 2 gold(front row) tickets for the Linkin Park concert! I quickly ran from third floor to the ground floor of our house to tell Bebe the good news. She texted my mom and my sister Wanwan who were equally ecstatic.

By next morning I am told that it's been decided that its Wanwan who I'm gonna take to the concert with me because she's the biggest fan of Linkin Park in our family. And she was quoted thus: "I'm going to that concert no matter what!!!"

So I went to Makati got my tickets and went to work. I hoped Wan could meet me in Glorietta but she doesn't know how so I had to pick her up in Ortigas. I taught her how to get to Glorietta by MRT, then took a taxi from there.

The taxi dropped us off at the right spot and we found our way to the Gold Ticket gate and got in. We then weaved our way through the crowd to get as close to the stage as possible. Wan used her Samsung phone to take pictures while I just screamed along the singing the songs and had fun.

Late Wan said we were crwoded in there literally rubbing elbows with the newest batch of Star Circle. She said they've been giving us looks as if they're wondering why we didn't recognize them. She wanted to take Hero's picture but was too shy.

In my case I really had no idea who they were and I'm not really into local showbiz. All I know was that I lost my balance, stepped on a girl's sandalled foot, who in turn yelled "Ouch! FUUUUUUUU@K!" So I just told Wan "Cool, I stomped on a Star Circle kid!" Seriously though, my apologies to her toe. Heheh!

After the concert(which I still believe is too short to be worth the money the free tickets were worth) we walked along texting others we could meet. I got to contact Ariel Atienza and Azrael and we met up for pictures. The went off to find someplace to sleep.



I thought of trying out Victoria Court because I heard it's affordable and it's okay enough. We laughed our heads off teasing each other about the possible greetings we might be welcomed with by the receptionist of the motel:

"Madam! Welcome back! Would you like the room from last time? Oh! So you're into women now! What? You're sisters?? KINKIER!"

But of course we just received the usual greetings and are led to this room with a 'music theme'. Wan asked about me letting her have a smoke.

"Can I smoke?"
"Not inside the room."
"What???"
"It's freakin' airconditioned!"
"You gonna make me smoke outside?? In this strange place?"
"Fine, don't smoke at all."
"Oh alright, not in the room then!"

In the morning I dropped her off in Ortigas and withdrew money for her allowance. She plans to pay it back when she gets money. I go on home after I get my camera and othe stuff I left in the office to make more space in my bag for Wan's things.
